Pictures of the annual Family Picnic at North Porter CCC
Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Good weather and host of interesting sporting activities brought a large number of families to NPCCC for a look at some of the different things that go on at the Club.
The cowboy shooters put on a display of Old West style guns and shooting, including some nicely smoky black powder.
An archery display filled Bay Two, as all comers were given a chance to try out their bow work on a set of practice targets.
The shotgun bay had newbies taking a shot at clay pigeons, thrown by our remote-controlled trap machine.
An IDPA demonstration gave a look at the practical pistol style of matches NPCCC hosts.
And future shooters of all kinds enjoyed the rimfire-for-beginners setup in Bay Three, with scoped .22 rifles and a variety of rimfire handguns.  Many folks from ages six and on up were able, under expert supervision, to fire a gun for the first time.  Lots of playing cards, poker chips, and clay pigeons were busted as some of the mysteries of the shooting sports were dispelled.
And no NPCCC Picnic would be complete without the barbeque, barbeque pork, hot dogs, Polish, and lots of other fixins served up by Club Volunteers.

Here's Jeremey showing a young guest the simplified IDPA-style scenario as he drills the zero-zones with Jeremey's Glock.

The archery setup stayed busy all day with these youngsters getting the strings going.

A lad gets his first chance to try a scoped .22 in the rest.

Bill Munoz works with a teenager hunting the elusive clay pigeon, which unfortunately is escaping unharmed in the upper right hand corner of the picture.

The charcoal-like cloud of real black powder obscures the cowboy shooter's display.
